No Holds Barred
Joey de Venecia III (ZTE-NBN whistle blower) shared his views with the media at a recent “No Holds Barred” forum held at the National Press Club. De Venecia touched on the salient points of the impeachment case he filed against President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo that includes betrayal of public trust, culpable violation of the Constitution, bribery and graft and corruption.
Also present at the forum were Jigs Clamor of human rights group Karapatan and Erlinda Cadapan, mother of missing UP student Sherlyn Cadapan who was abducted by alleged military men in 2006. Clamor and Cadapan are among those who signed the impeachment case.
When asked to comment on the argument that the filling of another impeachment case is ill-timed due to the prevailing economic crisis, de Venecia answered, “A crisis should not stop us from calling to task anyone who continues to cheat and lie to the Filipino people and someone who unashamedly plunders what little remains of the country’s wealth.”
